Chapter 11: Recycle Bin Management
11.1 Overview
Photocatalyst's recycle bin mechanism:
- Deleting photos defaults to soft delete, moving photos to the software's recycle bin
- Photos in the recycle bin retain their original files and can be restored at any time
- Files deleted from disk are moved to the operating system's recycle bin and can be restored from there
11.2 Recycle Bin Interface
Access: Sidebar → Recycle Bin
The recycle bin displays all deleted photos in list/grid view, with the following information:
- Photo thumbnails
- Original filenames
- Image dimensions
11.3 Restoring Photos
Single Restore
- Find the photo to restore in the recycle bin
- Right-click the photo → Restore
- Photo is restored to its original location
Batch Restore
- Select multiple photos (or click "Restore All")
- Confirm the restore operation
- Wait for restoration to complete
- All selected photos are restored to their original locations
Restore All
Click the "Restore All" button:
- Confirm restoring all photos
- Wait for operation to complete
- Recycle bin is emptied
11.4 Deleting from Disk
Single Delete
- Right-click photo → Delete from Disk
- Confirm the operation
- The photo file is moved to the operating system's recycle bin (in desktop mode), recoverable from there
Batch Delete
- Right-click each photo → Delete from Disk one by one
- Or directly click "Delete All from Disk"
Empty Recycle Bin
Click the "Delete All" button to empty the entire software recycle bin.

Note: In the desktop version, when performing "Delete from Disk", files are moved to the operating system's recycle bin and can still be restored from there.
